Jim Johns, Vios AssetJim founded Vios Asset Management, a boutique investment management firm located in Downtown, San Francisco, in 2002. Bringing over 20 years of industry experience, he has successfully maneuvered through the last two major U.S. economic recessions. Jim is an analyst of the global economy and its effect on the markets, and he presents finance classes and related educational regularly.

Prior to founding Vios, Jim was a Vice President in the Montgomery Division of Bank of America Securities where he focused on managing private client assets. Through his relationships with founders and engineers of Silicon Valley’s high tech companies, Jim often functioned as an information hub. He creatively leveraged the strengths of Bank of America to meet the myriad needs of his clients including option exercises, equity and debt derivative hedging and wealth management.

Jim began his career in 1991 in fixed-income sales to institutions at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (“DLJ”). He pioneered the corporate cash effort at DLJ and counted many of Silicon Valley’s largest high technology corporations as his clients including Cisco, Intel, 3Com, Seagate, Chiron, Autodesk and others.
